The 14th Annual Miracle Match for Life Golf Tournament was held on Friday April 29 benefitting the Gulf Coast Marrow Donor Program, the Julie Rogers “Gift of Life” Program and LifeShare Blood Centers. Founded in 2002, Miracle Match for Life is a collaborative partnership of TOTAL and BASF and has raised more than $1.4 million through its benefit golf tournament. Proceeds from the tournament have furthered regional participation of marrow and blood donations and breast cancer screenings and prevention in Southeast Texas. This year’s event was held at Bayou Din Golf Club and raised in excess of $120,000.

Marrow and blood donations and cancer screenings are less prevalent n the African American, Native American and Hispanic communities. The goal is to heighten awareness and share information about the provisions offered by the three participating organizations to encourage better utilization of these services.
